Meg Weston

President and CEO, University of Southern Maine Foundation

Meg Weston is currently vice president of advancement at the University of Southern Maine, and president and CEO of the USM Foundation. Prior to this position, Weston was very active in higher education governance in the state of Maine.  She chaired a legislative commission on higher education governance in 1993-94; served on the board of trustees for the University of Maine System from 1998-2008; and served as chair of that board in FY2007 and FY2008.

Weston has over 25 years of experience in leadership positions in imaging/communications businesses, from an autonomous division of a global Fortune 500 company to an internet start-up. She was president of the Portland Press Herald and Maine Sunday Telegram (125,000 circulation), President and COO of the U.S. photofinishing operations of Konica Corporation, and CEO of PrintLife, an Israeli digital imaging company that operated in the U.S. and Japan. For eight years, Weston operated a successful consulting practice, f22 Consulting, Inc., focused on helping companies make the transition from mature industries to new global opportunities utilizing innovative technologies.  Her clients included many national and international companies who market imaging products and services.

Weston has been involved for over 10 years with the Institute for Civic Leadership in the greater Portland region and completed several programs in facilitative leadership training.  She has also been trained in appreciative inquiry at the National Training Labs.  To fuel her personal creative energies, she is a writer and photographer and teaches courses in digital imaging.
