2012 Foundation Leadership Forum

January 22, 2012 - January 24, 2012

Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines, La Jolla, California

AGB's Foundation Leadership Forum provides an opportunity for foundation board members and CEOs to take time together to learn about issues affecting college and university foundations, share insights and best practices with colleagues from across the country, and think through plans for the leadership of their foundations throughout the coming year. Special, complimentary pre-conference workshops for new board chairs and vice chairs and new foundation CEOs will be held immediately prior to the Forum.

The Forum opens Sunday, January 22, at 5 p.m. with a keynote address by Mark G. Yudof, president of the University of California and one of America’s most distinguished leaders in public higher education.  New board chairs and vice chairs should plan on attending our Board Chair Boot Camp, providing an overview of the fundamental responsibilities of foundation board chairs and practical suggestions to enhance board engagement, productivity, and cohesiveness.  The three-hour orientation begins at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the opening keynote address.  New for 2012 is a special, free pre-conference workshop for new foundation chief executives with less than three years of service.  This workshop will also begin at 1:30pm on Sunday.

Be sure to register for one of the four post-conference workshops on Tuesday, January 24th from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  These workshops will provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion of fundraising leadership, risk in endowment management, building boards for the future, and strategic planning for your foundation.
