The 2012 National Conference on Trusteeship will look at the big ideas that are transforming higher education and the role governing boards, together with institutional leaders, play in that transformation. Plenary speakers include, among others, Clay Christensen, author of The Innovative University, and Richard Arum, author of Academically Adrift. The only national gathering designed specifically for higher education boards and institutional leaders, the conference focuses on governance-related issues and provides opportunities to learn best practices, hear how other boards are addressing challenges, interact with board members and leaders from across higher education, and hear from internationally recognized thought leaders.

Early-bird rate for each AGB member (before February 3): $795
Member rate (after February 3): $875
Nonmembers (early-bird rate does not apply): $995

Group rate (three or more people from one member institution registering at the same time):
Early-bird group rate (before February 3): $755 per person
Member group rate (after February 3): $805 per person

Preconference workshops (registration for the National Conference on Trusteeship is not mandatory for those who wish only to attend a preconference workshop):

Refund policy:
All cancellations and requests for refunds must be submitted in writing. AGB will issue a full refund if written notification of cancellation is postmarked by February 24, 2012. AGB is unable to issue refunds for attendees who cancel after this date. If you are unable to attend, a substitute is welcome in your place at no additional charge. AGB will issue refunds after the conference. AGB is not responsible for any cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines, travel agents, or hotels.

Gaylord National is just a 15-minute drive from Washington Reagan National Airport (DCA) and within a 45-minute drive from Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore Washington (BWI) International Airports. Shuttle service and car service are available from either airport to the hotel.

Update on hotel: Gaylord National Hotel is currently sold out of rooms on certain nights. We are maintaining a waiting list for those who would like to stay at the conference hotel. If you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please send an email to registrar@agb.org. We do expect rooms to open up, so we encourage you to request to be placed on the waiting list even if you make other arrangements. AGB has secured a small block of rooms at the rate of $199 per night at the Hampton Inn and Suites, 250 Waterfront Street, National Harbor, MD 20745, directly across the street from the Gaylord. For reservations at the Hampton Inn, please click here.
