This booklet focuses on assessing the performance of individual trustees, a responsibility that often falls to the committee on trustees (called the nominating committee on some campuses). It includes a checklist of good practices for enhancing performance, and illustrative statements of the following documents: 1) board member commitment and responsibilities; 2) trustee self-review survey and cover letter; and 3) trustee audit.
