Dr. Cristin Toutsi Grigos is the director of public policy and statewide programs at the Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB). Since 2008, She has specialized in collaborating with public governing and coordinating boards to enhance board performance as well as board policies in pursuit of leading governance practices and institution, system, or state goals for higher education. She also manages annual statewide programs for board members and trustees and customized engagements for public two- and four-year governing systems, coordinating boards and other state higher education agencies. Dr. Toutsi Grigos produces resources focused on public board structures and tracks state and federal policies affecting colleges and universities. Before coming to AGB, she served as a governor’s fellow for Virginia Governor Timothy Kaine in the Office of Commonwealth Preparedness and assisted in the development of the Governor’s Campus Safety Conference for colleges and universities, which occurred after the mass shooting at Virginia Tech. She also worked for the Virginia Department of Planning and Budget on state fiscal policies and funding proposals for public colleges and universities in the Commonwealth. Prior experience includes three years as the Coordinator of the President’s Leadership Program at Christopher Newport University.
Dr. Toutsi Grigos holds a MA in higher education from the College of William and Mary. Undergraduate degrees in Political Science, Governmental Administration, and Leadership Studies are from Christopher Newport University.
