Student Wellness: A Risk Perspective

Webinar On Demand
November 13, 2019

Student wellness is important for learning, and is therefore a key objective for an array of initiatives, offices, and policies in most colleges and universities. It can also present legal and reputational risk to institutions, stemming from: myriad laws and regulations, increased prevalence of mental health needs and alcohol and drug issues, complex academic and social environments, and disparate wellness needs among various groups of students.

The topic of student wellness is receiving increased attention from students, parents, institutional leaders, and other stakeholders, and this heightened attention can have the effect of enhancing risk, or shaping the ways in which risk could be realized. Boards are becoming increasingly engaged on this issue, and to do their job well boards must understand the scope of an institution’s student wellness efforts, including resources and results. During this webinar, you will have the opportunity to hear from leaders from two institutions with experience working with students and governing boards in this area.
