Mr. Ken Cody was most recently vice president for administration and finance at Bentley University in Waltham MA. In his role as chief financial officer there for five and a half years, he had responsibility for capital and operating budgets and long-range plans, as well as controller, treasury, and internal audit functions. As chief operating officer, he was responsible for information technology, facilities, enterprise risk management, purchasing, and auxiliaries. Some of his proudest accomplishments include receiving a Moody’s bond rating upgrade; creating a shared service center for Academic Affairs business operations; leading the Workday ERP implementation; developing a disciplined budget process to achieve the strategic plan and sustainable financial improvement; and building strong bonds with trustees and faculty through trust, transparency and personal accountability. Mr. Cody came to Bentley after nearly 30 years at the University System of New Hampshire where he served as vice chancellor and treasurer/CFO responsible for financial stewardship and providing financial leadership for the board and four campus presidents and financial officers. At USNH, he partnered with others to successfully lead campuses through a $50M cut in state appropriations, coordinated $1.2B in capital projects, managed 10 major bond issues, and co-led a University-wide administrative services redesign project resulting in the permanent reduction of 39 positions with no layoffs. Published remarks were earned from both Moody’s and S&P of “strong financial management.” Mr. Cody has also worked as a CPA in public practice prior to his career in higher education. Mr. Cody completed a three-year term on the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Board of Directors in 2012 and is a past president of the Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers (EACUBO) which represents 600 higher educational institutions in the Northeast. Currently, Mr. Cody serves on EACUBO’s Governance Committee and on Bentley University’s Investment Committee.
Mr. Cody earned his BSBA from Plymouth State University and his MS from Bentley University.
