The AGB Board Bot was created to help members quickly understand governance topics. It is not meant to answer questions about AGB membership, staff, upcoming event details, or similar matters. Further, the AGB Board Bot can’t answer questions about things that are not part of the AGB content used to train the chatbot. It can’t provide legal advice, access personal information, search the web, interact outside of provided knowledge, predict future events or trends, or perform tasks outside of governance guidance.
It also doesn’t summarize books. Unlike a search engine such as Google, the AGB Board Bot does not search based on keywords. It uses semantic search, looking for meaning in your inquiry and trying to match it to the training content. It is important to think about how you are asking a question. Instead of asking, “Summarize Higher Education Business Models Under Stress for me,” rephrase it to say, “What can you tell me about concerns around the business model?” The AGB Board Bot will likely find information about Higher Education Business Models based on the question. However, if you ask for a specific source by title, the AGB Board Bot won’t be able to match the meaning of that inquiry to the meaning located within the source.
