Career Opportunities.

The Association of Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges (AGB) invites nominations and applications for the position of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The incoming CEO will play a pivotal role as AGB’s leader and a nationally respected advocate for consequential higher education board governance.

Reporting to and collaborating with the AGB Board of Directors, the CEO will provide strategic leadership, champion best practices in higher education governance, and oversee the fulfillment of AGB’s mission and values. With a focus on maximizing relevance and engagement, the CEO will work closely with AGB’s extensive membership base, including over 1,300 member boards and more than 40,000 trustees, presidents, chancellors, and other key stakeholders with fiduciary responsibilities.

This visionary leader will further solidify AGB’s position as a thought leader in higher education board governance, emphasizing alignment with members and addressing current and emerging issues. The CEO will lead an exceptional AGB staff team across various functions, ensuring the organization’s continued success as a prominent voice in higher education.
