Maria Nazareth is treasurer and senior vice president for finance at AGB. Her primary responsibilities include providing the association with strategic financial guidance and overseeing accounting policies and procedures, maintaining fiscal records, and implementing the association’s investment policies as determined by the AGB Board of Directors through its Finance and Investments Committee. As a member of AGB’s leadership team, she contributes to achieving the organization’s overall strategic goals. During her tenure at AGB, she has overseen 17 unmodified auditors’ reports.
Prior to joining AGB, Nazareth worked for other nonprofits and associations, including the American College of Nurse-Midwives and the National Peace Corps Association, overseeing a variety of accounting and financial responsibilities.
Nazareth earned her postgraduate master’s degree focusing on commerce—accounting, management, and economics—from the University of Bombay and is a certified public accountant in Washington, DC.
