AGB Board of Directors Welcomes Four New Members

AGB is pleased to welcome four new members to the board of directors: Paul Brajcich, Katherine Sawyer, Cindy Shapira, and David Wilson.

“I am delighted that these individuals have chosen to share their insights, foresight, passion for higher education, and subject matter expertise with AGB,” said AGB Board Chair Beverly Seay. “The future of higher education needs strategic thought partners to help inform, inspire, and oversee their institutions. Paul, Katherine, Cynthia, and David are superb leaders, and they will augment our board’s capacity to strengthen AGB’s value for our members.”

Paul Brajcich serves on the board of Gonzaga University in Washington, where he previously served as the board chair. He is also the managing partner for RSM US LLP in the Pacific Northwest, leading the strategy, service implementation, and growth of the company for that part of the country. Katherine Sawyer, CFRE, is the executive director of the Oakton Community College Educational Foundation and the chief advancement officer and associate vice president of marketing and communications at Oakton Community College in Illinois. Cynthia Shapira, EdD, is the board chair of Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), currently undergoing system redesign, and a board vice chair of Brandeis University in Massachusetts. In addition, she is a director of the Allegheny County Airport Authority and the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust. David Wilson, EdD, is the tenth president of Morgan State University in Maryland. As president, Wilson leads one of the state’s four historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Under his leadership, the university generated the highest graduation rate in its history.
