The Rankings Effect

College rankings have become prominent in the college admissions process in recent decades. Several consumer media companies have developed their own rankings, which have put institutions in the spotlight. While many higher education leaders are critical of rankings because they don’t necessarily consider the individual student when deciding on the right college fit, boards of trustees should understand the role rankings have regarding the public perception of the institution and the impact it may have on the choice of where a student enrolls.
Transformative Lessons

Five years ago, a global pandemic disrupted higher education on an unprecedented scale. Practically overnight, many colleges and universities had to pivot their educational model from in-person learning to remote learning. Some institutions reopened campuses that fall. Adapting quickly to the needs of students in a time of crisis demonstrated the agility that campuses can have in challenging times and is one of the many lessons learned since 2020.
