The landscape of higher education is undergoing profound and rapid transformation, driven by a complex interplay of economic pressures, demographic changes, and technological advancements. Colleges and universities face rising costs, waning public confidence in the value of a degree, and reduced federal and state support, forcing a reassessment of traditional financial models. At the same time, declining numbers of high school graduates and intense competition from online providers are contributing to a significant decrease in enrollment, particularly at smaller colleges. In this climate, clinging to old paradigms is no longer a viable path to long-term sustainability or growth.1
