AGB believes that addressing matters of social and racial justice is a national imperative. Removing barriers to student success; creating a stronger sense of belonging for all students, faculty, and staff; and contributing to the communities in which we live and work are critical to the success of our colleges and universities and our nation.
To support your board and institution in addressing these issues, AGB has developed this Justice, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (JDE&I) Toolkit. It includes materials you can customize to work with your board to develop a common understanding of JDE&I issues, assess institutional needs, and prioritize and pursue your goals. Take the following steps to get started.
- Schedule an executive committee meeting to discuss toolkit resources. (Note: An AGB facilitator can walk you through the items in this toolkit. Contact AGB Consulting for more information and assistance.)
- Discuss how the board might address these topics, toolkit items, and recommendations in future board meetings.
- Follow up with AGB for support regarding your JDE&I strategies and goals. AGB encourages board members to regularly discuss and evaluate their JDE&I strategies.
