Ensuring that all students succeed and are equipped for achievement in a rapidly evolving workforce is a fundamental responsibility of governing boards—and critical to making the case for the value of higher education for our students, communities, and nation. This conversation will share insights from presidents of two institutions active with Excelencia in Education and its community of practice using intentional evidence-based programs improving outcomes for Latino and all students and AGB research on institutions that have achieved strong outcomes for low-income, first generation, and underrepresented students.
The discussion will explore:
- Using data-informed decision-making to identify and remove barriers to student success,
- Evidence-based programs advancing student achievement and economic outcomes,
- Practices to elevate board oversight of student success and strengthen collaboration with the administration to enhance institutional value through improved, student outcomes, and
- Organizing the work of the board, cabinet, and institution to holistically support student success.
Presented through a new partnership between AGB and Excelencia in Education.
