AGB Gears Up for Virtual National Conference on Trusteeship

This year is an exceptional year for AGB as it celebrates its 100th year of leading strategic board governance for higher education, which will be celebrated during the 2021 National Conference on Trusteeship. This virtual event, April 12–14, 2021, promises to be the impactful and engaging experience with a special recognition of the association’s 100 years.

The compounding effect of the global pandemic, increasing expenses, and extraordinary social justice unrest has sparked a galvanizing moment for higher education. Strategic governing boards and institutional executives must shape transformative change. “Breakthrough,” the focus of this year’s conference, aims to equip leaders with the knowledge and confidence to enact progressive change that will define a new era in higher education.

The 2021 National Conference on Trusteeship provides essential content from recognized experts through its keynotes, plenary sessions, community convenings, and over 70 concurrent sessions. Shaun Harper, the founder and executive director of the University of Southern California Race and Equity Center, will deliver the conference keynote: “Govern for Racial Equity: A Board Responsibility” on April 14. The sessions’ content also ranges from cyber risk and federal policy to the next generation of philanthropy and the business outlook for higher education in the 2020s.

The powerful virtual event platform enables greater interactivity between attendees and speakers. Feel free to explore AGB’s immersive content through dedicated session pages, live-stream video, live chats, Q&A sessions, and polling. Attendees can also view sessions on demand after the conference. Lastly, the virtual conference supports continuous networking via messaging, one-on-one sessions, chat rooms with speakers, facilitated working groups, and virtual roundtable sessions.
