Community Letter Regarding Conference Considerations for American Competitiveness Legislation

On March 22, AGB joined the higher education community in signing a letter stating the community’s positions regarding H.R. 4521, the America Creating Opportunities for Manufacturing, Pre-Eminence in Technology, and Economic Strength (COMPETES) Act of 2022 and S. 1260, the U.S. Innovation and Competition Act (USICA), before Congress reconciles them together. Both bills seek to increase the U.S.’s research capacity to compete with other countries, with consequences for higher education institutions.
